- Prof. Franz Waldenberger Director of the German Institute for Japanese Studies in Tokyo
- Swiss-Japanese Chamber of Commerce
Unlike many other presentations about Abenomics, which are focused on fiscal policy and taxation matters, Professor Waldenberger will discuss the opportunities and challenges for Japanese multinational companies to develop management structures that allow the pursuit of globalization by leveraging diverse human resources also for management.
This topic has proven to be a particular challenge for Japanese multinationals as the traditional management development systems cannot easily be converted into coherent Global HR Management systems that include also foreigners. However, the need to raise productivity by leveraging international talent is increasing and thus the discussion about possibilities to establish Global HR Management systems at Japanese multinationals has recently become more intensive.
Guest-Sepaker:
Professor Franz Waldenberger is the Director of the German Institute for Japanese Studies in Tokyo. He will present his views on recent developments in Japan’s society, economy and politics.
He is well known to a wider audience in Switzerland through his regular guest commentaries in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ). A recent article that he has published there in March 2016 was entitled “Japans Wachstumsquellen versiegen: Auf der Suche nach der neuen Elite”.
We look very much forward to his presentation on this special visit to Zurich from Tokyo.
